Manchester United manager, Amorim, has downplayed Marcus Rashford’s recent comments about seeking a “new challenge,” reiterating that the forward’s future at Old Trafford remains unchanged.

Rashford, a key player for United in recent seasons, has been omitted from the starting lineup in recent matches, fueling speculation about his future. The England international’s comments further intensified these rumors.

However, Amorim, speaking ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Wolves, dismissed these speculations. He emphasized that his decisions regarding team selection are solely based on what he believes is best for the team.

“Normal situation,” Amorim stated. “I will make changes when I feel it’s the right time. Until then, I will continue to prioritize the team’s best interests.”

He further clarified that he maintains regular communication with Rashford, focusing primarily on his performance and development. While acknowledging Rashford’s desire to play, Amorim firmly stated that the final decision regarding his inclusion in the squad rests solely with him.

“I speak with a lot of players individually,” Amorim explained. “I’m implementing my own approach, and it’s the only way I know how to operate.”
