The MDY-PDF reported that, following the successful capture of Htanpingone, their forces have continued offensives in surrounding areas. Intense fighting has been ongoing in Mattara Township since December 19, with clashes also reported in Thabeikkyin and Naungcho townships.
This victory highlights the growing strength of the MDY-PDF in Mandalay Division, as they intensify their efforts against the military junta. The capture of prisoners and military resources adds to the resistance’s momentum, posing a significant challenge to the junta’s control in the region.
Observers note that the escalating conflict in Mandalay Division underscores the deepening crisis in Myanmar, as resistance forces continue to gain ground. The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected as fighting intensifies in key townships.
