NUG Strengthens Karenni Defense Force with Firearms Donation
On January 21, 2025, the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defense provided 50 firearms to the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) Commander-in-Chief, U Tun Kyaw. The handover ceremony was reported by Karenni People’s Voice and took place in western Demoso Township.
During the event, NUG Deputy Minister for Women, Youth, and Children Affairs, Daw Ei Thuzar Maung, officially presented AR-15 and TZ-24 rifles to U Tun Kyaw. This move is part of the NUG’s ongoing commitment to supporting local resistance forces in their fight against Myanmar’s military junta.
