January 11, 2025 – The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reaffirmed its commitment to defeating Myanmar’s military council in coordination with revolutionary forces across the country. This declaration was made in a statement issued on the eve of the 62nd Ta’ang National Revolution Day, which is commemorated on January 12.
In the statement, the TNLA emphasized that the military council, regarded as the common enemy, is consistently facing defeat due to the unified efforts of ethnic armed organizations (EAOs), the Spring Revolution Forces, and the people of Myanmar.
The TNLA noted the council’s growing reliance on brutal tactics, including aerial bombings, heavy artillery fire, arson, and indiscriminate killings targeting civilians. These attacks have devastated critical civilian infrastructures, such as hospitals, schools, religious sites, markets, and homes, according to the statement.
A Coordinated Revolution
The TNLA called for increased collaboration among revolutionary groups to ensure the long-term success of the Ta’ang people’s revolution and to bring freedom to all oppressed communities in Myanmar. They urged all forces to maintain the momentum of resistance and continue working towards a democratic and inclusive future for the country.
Military Council Weaknesses
The TNLA underscored the military council’s deteriorating position, citing their inability to hold ground in multiple regions due to persistent losses in battles against coordinated resistance forces. This has led the council to escalate violence against civilians in an effort to maintain control, a strategy the TNLA described as desperate and unsustainable.
The statement concluded with a call to action for all revolutionary entities to remain united, aiming to overthrow the military council and establish peace and justice for the people of Myanmar.
